Talking NEVER EVER Take a day off!!!!!

I was off tuesday...first day off in a few weeks...Im all happy its payday Im off work...plan was to hit the range...drink a few beers and SLEEP!! Welp mruphy's law kicked in.
Van Died....spent tuesday playing guess the computer code on the van....oxygyne sensor ($45)...rear main seal on the hundi went ($325)...let someone else do that for me.....lawn mower acted up....blade got knoced out of ballance....then wifee poo lets me know the kitchen sink is cloged.......25 ft snake no help... oh well it was 7pm Ill do it tommorw....pick up the hundi from the shop...it over heats (been acting up)...fan sensor went bad.
So today get up at 7am...pick up my paycheck (they shorted me $200...so play slap the payrolle clerk)...pick up a power snake from home depot....a fan switch from Auto Zone.
Got the drains working...and used the scrape out the pipe attachment for good measure...but now I look like homeless bob and smell like ***** from the snake. Put the fan swithc in...fan comes on but gauge still maxes out....go get temp switch in wifes car....first got wrong one ($7)...oh you need the 2 wire one ($27) but not in stock....grab a temp gauge ($13)....blow tire in wifes car comeing home......get all cars running...go get new tire on wifes car.....take a shower...thinking ok sleep until 8pm then get up and go to work....NO now wife wants to go out to dinner....

The moral of the story...never take a day off work

Normally, I'd say you need a day at the range, but if Mr. Murphy is still around . . . ? Maybe not.

Ya definitely need some R&R, though. Best of luck.

going to work for the rest, ain't that the truth. i never plan any activity just do it, keeps Murphy confused and hence has not as much chance to Murphyize. also when Murphy does strike its not as big a dissapointment

Hey, it's good this all happened during your day off. If this troubles happened during a workday you will be caught trapped in a tough decision which one to prioritize, work or the chores you have to do, isn't it?

One thing good is that you get things done, it may be difficult and frustrating but you did it and you did it well!! Tha't life! Expect for more of these to come.

That sounded like a week's worth of work in one day. You deserve a break today, as the old saying goes.

PapaG: I'm like you since retiring. I don't write down my list of things to do. It's all in my head so my wife can't add to it. She doesn't know how big or how little it is, either.(ha)

Doglips did you rent the sewer snake? I work in tool rental and hate those nasty things. We clean them with simple green and then spray bleach on them and then snake oil. That is one of our top rentals. Oh by the way our tool rental is #1 in our district and in the top 10 for the U.S. Thank you for supporting me and my family.

Thumbs up Thanks for the free use of construction equipment.

AlanC: The group I work with every Wednesday uses rental construction equipment nearly every Week from "Beagels Rental" here in the north part of Kansas City.

We (Habitat For Humanity) regularly use Bob Cats, ditchers, back-hoe's, and sheet metal brakes. Beagals Rental gives us a deal which we can't refuse. It's called "no rental fee" for any piece of equipment which they haven't rented out that day.

At the end of the year they claim a tax credit for the value of the equipment we've used. It's an unbelievably good deal for our group. We couldn't do some of the work without their donated equipment.

We give Beagals credit publicly for their donations by placing their name on a huge job site sign listing all contributors for that project.

Well? Don't make a statement like that then clam up. What are you talking about? I've given you ten minutes to reply...I'm curious what you meant.
