Hi I am doing some research for my first 40 cal and I am very interested in the XD but I have searched the forum and still have a couple of questions I hope someone can help me with.
1. How do you decock the weapon?
2. To change sights requires a gunsmith (i.e. night sights etc)?
3. Does it come with the rail and ready to install a laser?
I can only answer for the XDm, but you don't de-cock the weapon. You can remove the magazine and rack the slide to remove any ammo from the chamber, but unlike a Sig with a de-cocker...it doesn't have that. It does have an indicater that tells you when there is a round in the chamber, and another one that indicates when it is cocked.
To change the sights...yes, you need a gunsmith to do it right. I've not tried it, but they apparently are wedged in using a press.
The XDm does come with a rail under the front end, but I don't have anything on mine.
hey guys, i am planning on getting the xdm 9mm i know there out but i dont know if anyone has had them yet. are they in the shops around your guys parts.
