I have a friend who's considering an AR-10 among other 308 rifles, and one of his criteria is to have open sites that he can use in addition to a scope. The Eagle AR-10 is the lowest priced, but only has a flattop. What I'm wondering is are there sites that would install on the flattop, or would it end up being more economical to buy the Armalite A2 with sites and some sort of see-thru scope mount.

Probably cheaper buying the A2 and adding a see through scope mount. Eagle Arms?? ArmaLite sells the AR-10 as a rifle, Eagle Arms is the name applied when someone buys a lower receiver and adds an upper receiver. ArmaLite has this thing about not selling ArmaLite stamped uppers or lowers. Also makes it easier as ArmaLites have a lifetime warranty but the Eagle Arms parts do not. Your friend is buying a gun made from parts if it says Eagle Arms. I have two of them, an AR-10A4 and an M15A4.
