powder question in 9mm
i ordered some 124gr bullets for 9mm, but my problem is the only powder i have on hand that i can use in it is green dot and i dont have a listing for that powder in that weight bullet. my book say green dot under 115gr bullet is 4.7gr, and under 147gr bullet use 3.5gr of green dot.
Does anyone have a listing for green dot under 124gr bullet?
Would it be advisable to wait untill i work up a powder order or would it be possible to start at 4gr of powder and work up untill the gun will function while looking for high pressure signs?

My 2000 edition of the freebee lists 5.2gr with the 125gr lead or FMJ.

5.2 gr of green dot? 4.7gr of green dot will not leave enough room for the powder to move when the bullet is seated.

I wouldn't know, I don't use GD. I just provided the info.
I use Unique or N320 and only 147gr Frontier CMJ's.

In truth, there are quite a few on here that are smart, very helpful and also have a good data base. But to share it and help, comes from within my friend...

i like these 124gr bullets much more. im loading them with 3.6gr green dot and they function fine. the 115gr bullets i had to use max powder and a firm crimp to get them to function.

Kool. Hows the accuracy? Now you can log that load in your journal and you can pass it down to your apprentice.
