Vanguard 30-06 range

What kind of range could I expect out of my Vanguard 30-06?

Depends on your scope and what you are shooting at really, I use mine on a 'F' class range up 1000 yards, but I wouldn't attempt a shot like that in the field.

So much information that is needed to answer your question. What range to take a deer, or range for target, what bullet size etc. Most people can get better range, than their ability to shoot.

Go to Remington.com and check their ammo section

where you can get some good comparitive data on differing cartridges and bullet weights. This is highly useful info.

Of course your eyesight, the quality of the scope, wind conditions, the heat of the barrel and your ability to hold the rifle steady will play into accuracy outcomes especially as the range increases.

Note that the extreme ranges some people have as an interest will require movement into the very expensive scopes plus handloading.

In reality the standard 100 yards is a good maximum range for many shooters. The Vangard can deliver good results as it is a quality rifle.

I have a Vangaurd in .270 (Same cartridge lil smaller bullet than a 30-06) shooting Winchester power points 130 grain and at 1 hundred yards im keeping groups at an inch or smaller now. Also I think you have to break in the barrals on the Vanguards. I know when i first shot my gun i was grouping around 5 inches (ya i know not good) but after about 80-100 rounds its holding tight at about an inch or smaller. Also remember get a good scope!!!
