I've got a nice shooting .22 patent 2094577. On the 24 inch barrel it reads, "Cal .22 Long Rifle Smokeless Greased Only;" along with, "Springfield, J. Stevens Arms Company, Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A.; Model 87A."
I know its generic background from reading postings on GunAndGame.com but I am hoping to get a firm date of manufacture. The only other identifier is a small "V" carved into the stock where the front of the stock meets the barrel.
It's in good shape, stock is unblemished. I got my C and R recently and wanted to see what year/month this baby was manufactured in.
