Hi to All, recently joined and looking forward to enjoying this site. I'm near Orlando, Fl and have been collecting Sako's for about ten years. I've recently added a 30-06 Deluxe model with a serial number of 12,6XX? Might anyone have an idea as to it's birthdate? The bbl. is marked "Bofors Steel" and it is in minty condition. Thanks for any help.

welcome to g&g.the finnbear was built from 1961 to 1971.i have been lucky enough to shoot one and they are awsome.sorry i couldn't be more specific on the actual date of manufacture.fwiw i have also shot a finnwolf and consider it a classic.

There is very little data out there on Sako MFG dates. If you really just have to know, a hand written letter to Sako will provide you with the answer.
