I've got a C-9 in 9mm Luger. Does the 995 use the same mag and ammo?

Yes they will use the same ammo but it is my understanding that the mags on the 995 and C9 will not interchange.

I bought a used 995 HiPoint awhile back for $149. Haven't put more than 30 rds thru it, but it works well so far. It seems these are better guns than one might believe. I think the looks of the thing would scare off a cretin, or make him laugh so hard, he'd lose control of the situation! I have 3 factory mags, loaded with Federal +P+ 115 HP's; supposedly they are ok for occasional use in these guns.

mine was $215 otd. they are pretty ugly, but can be made to look pretty good if your willing to spend a little more cash. definitely worth buying one. I almost bought another one a couple days ago. there was an ad in the paper for a used 995 with 4 clips for $125. I emailed the guy, but it was already sold. probably could have got it for $100-110.

There's not much gain in pistol calibers in a 16.5 " bbl. I saw a test in some gun rag, involving the 9mm in this case. They fired a pistol and a carbine(don't remember the makes); carbine only gained a few fps. Now, if your dealing with magnum revolver cartridges, there is a large gain in a carbine.

the one thing you will notice about highpoint is highpoint will recoil straight back and all other handguns will recoils upwards that extra weight that highpoint puts into their guns pays off .now the c9.9mm highpoint will recoil upwards because of it's short size but it's still better than most other makes.

I'd still like to hear from somebody that's put a suppressor on a H-P carbine! Yeah, I know a can costs like 3-4 times as much as the gun, but I'd like one! I just wonder how noisy the action is, since it's so beefy.

.40 will have a significant increase of speed from the 16" barrel, much like the 9mm.
Perhaps that is the reason more carbines are not chambered for the .45. | |

I'm waiting for the 4595, but I'll settle for the 4095 to beat a ban.

If you read any of my posts in the General Handgun forum you will see I am not ny any means a High Point fan but I would get one of their carbines. I still hold my position that their pistols are crap but their carbines have a great reputation. I will probably get one if I ever see one for sale. They are tough to come by but I want one.
