Understanding other countries gun views.

This is not a cut/paste...Ive been reading way too much lately...like a book a night...studying some other countries and culture..mainly japans but some english and french....I think I finly figured out why they are so aginst citizens owneing firearms.

First off firearms cameabout several hundred years before the USA was even located. Back then the surfs and pesents lifed a pretty messed up life....they owned nothing and the king, Domo, empier owned everything....at the same time wars were mainly fought by Sameri...knights and other such people of nobility...they went out and smacked swords 1 on 1 the whole honer in battle thing. Sometimes pesents were formed into armies but they were only given minamal trainning and even then most weapons were clubs or spears/halberts....pretty low tec stuff.... OK so along comes gunpowder/firearms....well untill then a simply trained pesent...especialy one who spent the day busting butt in the feilds ... even if he had a nice sword...was no match for a night or samari...who were better trained and feed....so the pesents had no chance to revolt....we with a firearm.. a handfull of pesents could seriously woop up on the nobale men..knights ect...streanght...skill ect was not as impotrant...a kid with a match lock could blow a knight away....well these countries...the big dogs in charge...could not allow this to happen....especialy since it was their heairs in the knight/samari suit...so guns were outlawed....in the begiining to keep the pesents from haveing the ability to smoke a noble person...and revolt.
Hunting was a sport for the landed gentry and not for pesents and crime/protection was the duty of the duke, domo...what ever...since the king/empor owned everything If someone stole a pig it was the kings pig not the pesents so the king would hunt down the pig stealer.

Now in America..the new world the gun was much needed tool..both for hunting and protection...it were a ruff place to life back then...so firearms became a tool and as such of course you had one...

Ok now why then do actors...rich people want to keep us middle class people from owneing firearms....
simple...think about YOUR neighboorhood.....no picture beverly hills or Bill Gates neighboorhood.....bet the poilce in Beverlyhills respond faster than to my house....well if you have big $$ then system APPEARS to work....you wount see crack heads roaming near the mayors house....add some privet security to the mix and the well off simply dont see crime...the rapes..home invasions ect....so out of sight out of mind....if they belive there is NO real crime problem.......and since their perception is that the police can instanly respond to any problem (Beverly hills probly has more cops than most big cities)....its easy for them to develop the frame of mind that ....no crime so no self defense reason....so only gun nuts want guns...and then probly to commit crimes with.

Just some thoughts I had.....

you broke the code Lips!!!its all about power, who has it, who dosen't, and the elimination of the common denominator(guns) from the peasants.

Howdy,

I am by no means an isolationist, however when it comes to what any other country thinks about our culture I say "F" them! We are good enough to bail their sorry asses out of wars, rebuild them after they start them with us, feed them with our food and help them establish and benefit from global trade. But they can still sit there and spit on us and criticise out policy? Kiss my Red White and Blue ***!

Going back a bit further,crossbows were outlawed for the same reason,peasants could shoot a Knight and go through his armor from a safe distance.

I was watching the simpsons last night and marge said something that made me laugh uncontrollably for about 5 minutes. Homer & Marge were standing in the rain and marge said, "We can take it like the French, or we can do something about it!". That caught me really good and my ribs got sore from laughing so much.

The safety of being inside a castle wasn't effective against invasions after guns were invented. That threatened the status quo of whomever was in power inside the forts. Easy to see why guns by outsiders weren't appreciated.

Thats the whole point...before firearms the pesents could get mad...but they better be getting mad while they work the feilds....an untrained pesent with even the best sword would be no match for a knight..samari warrior. But a pesent with a firearm....NOW has the power to say wait just a moment...I am not going to take it anymore...and now stand up to the lord/master/king....the solution DONT LET PESENTS HAVE GUNS... the same goes for polaticians today...if us pesents have firearms...we may just get upset about being screewed by the goverment...king/queen and do something.....the solution...take away the guns and the pesents have no choice but work the feilds and shut up.

Correct , but you did not bring forth the strongest point . Our present piliticians are the current nobility / ruleing class . They talk about public safety & gun control to prevent crime .

As you said , the rich and famous eat this stuff up .

But make no mistake , the politicians see it as the kings and nobles of old . An armed citizen / pesant could end up revolting , if you treat him/her too badly !

We gun owners are a potential threat to their power , if they stray too far from the straight and narrow .

It is about power , always has been , always will be . If we have guns , we have some / a little power left .

After reading this and giving it some thought, I realize we never really free. Most gun owners up here complain abt. the new laws and registration for guns. So what really changed?? Sure it's a pain in the arse to go through the hassle, and endure the wait, and if you don't comply ya can't even buy ammo without a license, but we were supposed to have F.A.Cs since the 70s.How many people bothered? I was one of few.
Handgun control here has always been strict, that's why I got rid of mine. Dang near needed the popes blessing and do sexual favours to the politicians to legally fire one.
We have never had the right to defend our life or property with arms.Don't end up like us, fight for your rights while ya still got something to fight with.
Instead of being like all the farmers and hunters here who sat in coffee shops talkin' abt. the changes do your talkin' where it counts; at the polls.
