Checking in from NW Arkansas, north of Eureka Springs, on Table Rock Lake.
Used to jokingly tell friends in Ks. that I was going to move to Arkansas and not leave a forwarding address. I finally did in 2004.....

First visited NW Arkansas in 1981 to scuba dive Beaver Lake. ALWAYS wanted to move to this area from Kansas and finally succeeded summer '04.
Only regret is that we didn't make the move sooner. This is a truly beautiful state from everywhere we have visited and all we have seen. Only thing I miss about Kansas are the friends we made over the years and quail hunting (but it had been pretty crummy for the last 20 years).

Welcome AFBill, when I was growing up all I could hear from my mom was how great California was and she talked alot about us going back someday. Then in the mid eighties I met lots of folks who moved here from California and said nearly the same things you did.

I never got out there and looking back now I guess it's just as well because it saved me the money I would have spent coming back.

Glad to have you and glad you like your new digs.

We have a group (20 or more) folks we used to ride motorcycles with in Ks. come down to visit every spring/summer at least once or twice. They have a great time, spend money, and look forward to their next time coming back down.
We are going to ride to either Mount Magazine or Mount Nebo area this time when they visit. Several ask how we like it here and I always tell them we love it.....wish we had made the move sooner. Riding is great, fishing is great and the taxes (property/real estate) are a LOT cheaper.

I'm sorry for you, I'm in So. Ar. in spirit if that helps.
I know they hunt & fish down there, cause I did it when I lived there. Maybe they don't have computers. lol

Do they still make them potato donuts down there? Man, they were goooood!!!

Hang in there, if I ever get down there again we'll go get some donuts and a hot coffee.
