Mark lll new toys cleaning tips?

I just purchased a Mark lll 5 1/2 22/45 for my wife and a Mark lll 6 7/8 22/45 for myself and looking for cleaning tips. This is my first gun do I need to clean them before using them the first time? What level of cleaning is required for every 100 rounds I shoot? Thanks for the advise.

I have the MK III 22/45 as well and love it. Clean the bore and bolt face, then lightly oil metal to metal surfaces.

Neo- Your video is no longer available.

The MK III can be a pita to reassemble if you strip it down. The link below really helps the first few times you do it. I recommend you bookmark it.

Smile Thanks Swede

SwedeSteve: Thanks for checking: these are from Ruger and I just checked they work.
3 phases and good information: even for us old timer MK owners.

Thanks for tips

By following the book and video's and was able to clean and reassembly both guns with no parts left over. Now as soon as I can fit some range time in I will get them dirty and start over again.
