Hello to all...I'm from the Plesant Hill area. Moved from Indiana a little over a year ago...this will be my 1st hunting season (shotgun)...been scouting the public hunting areas and have'nt really settled on a good location yet...
Love the Iowa landscape...the Winterset area is absolutely beautiful as is Boone...

My wife and I met some friends from Eastern Iowa at the state park near Kellogg. We camped there for the weekend. It was a pretty decent park but a really long drive for us.

can't figure some people out -they use corn for corn flakes-when it's better used for whiskey--NOW after stating the obvious i bet whiskey & corn flakes would be the breakfast of champions

I'm in Pennsylvania, but, back when I travelled for business, I was in Ottumwa. I had dinner at Tom and Rosanne Arnold's "Big Food" restaraunt. It was the day after their grand opening, and Tom Arnold's younger brother was managing the place.....

Hello snowman1.
Montour Iowa , ahhhhh some good memories from there. I got my first turkey in Montour when I was 17. It happen to be the same day that Prez Reagan was shot . I guess we all got a turkey that day, hahaha. My group rented a cabin/house and bagged 6 turkeys that day. Then the next day my dad took a Hawaiian ram. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

new member, 1st. post but long time hunter/shooter from ankeny. if anyone's looking for a good place to shoot, i've found a DNR maintained range up by panora on bay's branch. it's free, has shooters benches and has 25, 50, 100 yard back stops.
