Question Place to shoot 300yds+? in NW Arkansas

I am currently looking for a place to shoot from 300 to 600yds.

While I am aware of several gun clubs in Arkansas most that have ranges of that distance or longer are also quit a distance from where I live.

Although joining one and making the drive may be my only solution I am trying to figure out a closer alternative.

I was wondering if any in my area had the same trouble and either found or would want to work towards finding a solution for a place to shoot at similar distances?

If you have some land or know someone, build your own.

For the Yellville, AR shoot I cut the 25 meter range out of the woods with a chainsaw. And we had almost 40 people on the line.

So I know it can be done

I've got land but my only problem are the houses around the only section I could use for a range as they would be down range.

Drat the bad luck.

What about in Oklahoma or Missouri? I don't know of any personally but checking wouldn't hurt.

I'll be looking around....though not a quick fix locating and buying a piece of land that suits my needs may end up being the only solution to the problem.

BigEd,

I went to the NRA range locator and a new public range is going in at Berryville. However it only goes out to 300 yards.
Thought I'd let you know.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info on that. I'll see what I can dig up on it too.
