I had one and sold it to get something else, but it's a nice gun.
It would probably be best to go to Ruger's websight and see the instructions, but I can probably remember good enough.

Make sure the gun is UNLOADED. I know that sounds dumb, but
make sure.
Look on the left side of the frame and slide for 2 little lines. These will need to line up when disassembling.

Pull slide back to lock open
Remove magazine
Push ejector down from the top ( through opening of slide)
If you don't do this, you'll have a problem.
I hold the frame and slide with my left hand, with left thumb inside
the trigger guard.
While holding the slide with left hand, push down on the slide catch lever.
SLOWLY let the slide come forward until the 2 little marks line up.
When these marks line up you can push the slide release lever out from the right side. I don't remember on the 85 if this comes all the way out or just until it clicks. Either way, you'll know. If it comes all the way out easily, fine. If it clicks and catches part way out, fine. Leave it there.
Now you should be able to pull the slide all the way off.
Be careful the recoil spring doesn't come off and hit you in the eye.
Remove recoil rod and spring.
Remove barrel.

If you have any questions, holler.
