I was told that UMC ammo is VERY DIRTY! The guy I talked to at Dick's in N.Canton told me he suggests cleaning your gun after EVERY 25 rounds of UMC or you will get build up.
I asked my friend who used to work at Gander (now at a research testing place for guns/ammo) and he agreed it is very dirty.

I stick to the Winchester White Box for my semi's. Some of the cheaper I will shoot through my wheel guns though.

I personally never had a problem with it. I have been shooting in my Hi-Point since I got it, about 2 years ago, and I never had a problem with it. It NEVER jams or anything like that. My dad shoots it in his Hi-Point Carbine if I'm not mistaken. I tried some stuff called Blazer from a place in I think North Royalton called MC Sports I think it was (it was awhile ago), they had it onsale for like $6 so a bought some and it was crap. So IDK, I guess until I have a problem I will keep on shooting it. But thanks for the info.

I paid $8.57 a box last week at wally world in the Hamilton Fairfield area. It was Blazer Brass cased. I like The Gun Runner in Monroe ohio. He has good prices on most firearms. He doesn't keep a large stock but good prices on what he does has.

If it works then shoot it as it is your choice. I called Smith & Wesson and they suggested against it for my M&P's. I've even had a few incidences with Blazer Brass in my M&P .45. I'll stick with WWB as I've never had a problem with all I've shot.

When I lived in Dayton, I would hit Olde English, mostly because they were pretty much the only decent gun shop around that area.
In Columbus, I hit either Powder Room, Aumiller's, Vance's, or Buckeye Outdoor in Newark.

That's my prime stop too, although a couple more have sprung up: Vandalia Tactical (don't know much about them except a big selection of semi-auto handguns and good Ruger 10/22 accessories), and Vandalia Armory (pricey). All three are within rock-throwing distance of the Dayton airport.

Is that quality ammo? I'm a retired novice who'll be shooting a CZ 75D PCR 9MM.

I have shot thousands of rounds of it through my hi-point 9mm and NEVER once had a problem with it.

Does anyone know of any good stores or gun shops, or good gunsmiths in the SE Ohio area? I live on the border near Belpre.

Royal Ridge shooters supply in brunswick hills. 2323 pearl rd. They have an indoor shooting range and a gunsmith that performs very good work, particuarly on handguns. (330)-220-4206 They have the very reasonable prices on both guns and ammo and dont carry any junk.

I finally checked out the "conventry gun shoppe"......Everyone there was extremely helpful and friendly......They had a very wide variety of guns moreso with rifles than handguns........ammo was fair on alot of thing a little high on others certainly wouldnt go there specifically for ammo. But I found a couple really good deal on milsurp rifles. I got a nice k31 for 179 and a nice91/30 hex 1925 mosin nagant for 89. WILL DEFINATELY BE CHECKING IN OFTEN!

Woodbury Outfitters are down I-77 to S.R. 36 to S.R. 541 W. of Coshocton. Another hour SW of there will get you to Buckeye Outdoors in Hebron, by Newark. Strictly hunting? Try Miller's Guns in Sugarcreek or Kidron Sports in Charm (both Amish; they may have some handguns.)
