[HK45]

So I have put around 150 rds through my brand new GP100 and noticed something today when I was cleaning it. It rattled. So I went hunting for this rattle and found it to be the Transfer Bar. My Redhawk in .44 mag has never had this problem. Has this happened to anyone else with their Ruger. If so, were you able to fix it yourself, or did you send it back to Ruger?

so it stands to reason the gp-100's do too.

In this case, a rattle is a good thing. If it isn't rattling, it isn't able to move freely therefore not able to do what it was designed to do.

My GP100 does the same thing. There was a thread here a few weeks ago discussing the same thing. I haven't done anything about it.

Good point, I never thought of that. But it does seem weird that no other revolvers that I know of rattle like these Rugers.

Yup...my Taurus Mdl 689 .357 transfer bar rattles also.

Especially since my Redhawk doesn't rattle. But it sounds as though all is well so I will stop worrying about it. Thanx guys.

Trivia Note: In the last episode of season three of CSI Miami Calleigh Duquesne identifies a gun by this sound. The subject had cocked, but not fired, a GP-100 behind her.

Oh and, by the way; HK, don't worry, it's normal with an SP-101 or GP-100.

Thanks All - I just shot my KGP141 for the first time yesterday and was wondering about that rattle. It would be nice if they told us noobs about this in the manual. Cancel that trip back to Ruger! :-)
