Lightbulb New Preamble To The Constitution...

'We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim
they require a Bill of NON-Rights.'

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful; do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.

(This one is my pet peeve...get an education and go to work.... don't expect everyone else to take care of you!)

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from!
(Lastly....)

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!

Amen
Rich

Amen, and keep your powder dry, brother! I like what it says, and will stand beside you, one hundred percent. We the few, who have bled for so many, are tired of the BS, and are about to stand up and speak our piece! We didn't go and fight, just so you all can sit on your collective hineys, and have the gummint take care of you. Get up, and get going, or get out. If you don't belong here, and weren't born here, and don't want to work for a living, please go back where you came from. And yes, we speak the english language, in this country, and would like for you to learn to communicate with us, in the tongue we speak. Many of us speak other languages, but this is our country, and we don't need to learn your language, in order for you to fit in. Praise whomever you want, just don't try to take our right to religion away, just because it doesn't fit into your personal beliefs. I'm tired of doing handstands for every person who comes to my country, so do your best to fit in, and adapt, because we don't have to. The last time we checked, the USA was still our country of origin, and we have the right to be AMERICANS, in our own land!!!!!!

Well said by both Rich and Seebee. Bet Nancy would have a heart attack at the thought of reading that list to Congress.

May I add one?

Article XII. Violations of an oath, given in good faith and not under duress, to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Rights prescribed by the Amendments shall be considered an act of treason and subject to full and immediate prosecution under the law.

Moose I agree with your post and loved reading it. Sadly the one's it's aimed at don't know how or don't care about contributing to there on welfare.
How do you instill real pride into people that feel we owe them something ?
We have so many poor people in America that truly need a helping hand and then we have the one's such as your post is aimed at.
How do you reach these people that so much has been given to over several generation's ?
In my travels around half of my state I'm seeing way to many minority youth's not in school and I can't help but wonder, why aren't these young people in school ? What's going to become of them, which we already know the answear to that question.
They'll most likely be the one's in your post.

I could go on but I'll close A.H

It is easily understood, AH! They are third and fourth generation welfare recipients! They don't know any better, and don't care to change!

DWFan,

That addition has got some teeth in it too...

...teeth we need to help make a huge course correction in America, even if it means cleaning out both houses of Congress, the Judicial and Executive as well!! "Get the deadwood out!" should be a phrase used more often, and we're overloaded with deadwood.

Scotty/AH,

Too many people in America have been on some sort of welfare for FAR TOO LONG...

...and it needs to end.

I saw first hand how being on the welfare dole in England ruined people...

...and welfare support is doing the very same thing here at home.

I saw a lot of it, in Ca., and didn't like what it was doing to people. By the third generation, they all feel entitled to the free money. Except it isn't free, it comes from those of us who work for a living! I'm tired of supporting those able bodied slobs, who have nothing better to do, than sit in front of the TV I paid for, swilling the booze I also paid for, under the roof I paid for. Time to clean house, once and for all!!!

If we cut the $ and entitlements and have people stand on their own, I believe it'll go a long way toward fixing the problem.

People develop pride in doing a job well, working, and earning money. Benefit to all.

DWfan, your Article XII has long been needed. I would love to see it passed, along with the others. We could take control of our Government again and live under the protection of our Constitution as we should be doing.

Doing fine until this one. Now that's a bit of revisionism you're guilty of. The Founders were not the rack of Bible-philes some people like to paint them as. You ever read Jefferson or Franklin? Nowadays we'd call them aetheists, or at least strong agnostics. One must remember the word "God" did not mean the same thing back then as it does today in America. I recommend Googling "Jefferson's Bible" for a good example of how a good portion of them actually felt.

I can't stress that enough.

Keep it on the money...but also don't forget the words "under God" are a late addition to the Pledge of Allegiance. Fair's fair. No changing history or heritage, right? So that phrase has to go.

Careful when you ask for things. They might not always dovetail with what you think they do.

I like the rest, though. I just can't comprehend how welfare even works, honestly. How do you merit money without working?

Gotta disagree on healthcare. That seems to be a more fundamental thing than getting something for nothing. Without insurance, the cost of healthcare is out of the grasp of almost anyone in this country. Can you imagine having to pay for a surgical procedure out of pocket?

If we guaranteed a minimum wage that 2 full-time workers with 2 kids could live on, that'd be something, too. There'd be no excuse, then.

What's amusing to me about this though, is how much like the basic tenets of LaVey-style "Satanism" this all is. "Don't hurt anybody", "Be self-sufficient", "the world owes you nothing"...kinda funny, really.

You got a black altar somewhere you're not telling us about, Moose?

"Common Sense".
Seems to me that was the spark that started the American Revolution in the hearts of the Colonists.
