Home is were the heart is. I love California, and my kind isn't treated well in some places were I walk into. Don't get me wrong theres plenty of southern hospitality but Im getting allot of hostility from the inlaws. Even got in a fist fight and they dont take it to well when they loose.

SM, I know what you're talking about and I never had done that. I understand what you mean by Home is where the heart is, but I can't for the life of me understand why someone would choose to move back to this state after living in the south...

What sort of hostility? I doubt any "Southern boy" could take well when one of those "dirty-hippies" whups his butt hahaha. Good for you though!

I guess it's because I'm not from here and have only spent about 6 months here so far. Still... I miss Georgia and the... niceness that I always witnessed there.

Its simple, inlaws don't like me. They so happen to be high up in the law enforcement food chain and they have friends in my workplace. Everybody knows everybody down here. It would have been much better if the Inlaws weren't a factor. Out here i could discharge my firearm outside my house if I wanted to but its also slow going. I love hunting down here but thats all that I can realy do besides go to the casino.

California is highspeed and lowdrag. All my Family live down there and so do my friends. my heart ackes when I dream about moving back. ima have to sell so Firearms to move back though.

Wouldnt mind moving to Tennessee though, beautiful country. Big buck 2!!!!!

Do you know why?

And if I were you, I'd take a look at the North Georgia mountains. KnightRider lives up there and I used to as well. Beautiful country. Depending on where you'd work and what you do you could live in Dalton...

Or if you needed to be close to the city you could live in Forsyth or Hall County. Neither is too expensive and very nice places to live in.

Or you could say the hell with it and move back to Cali. How does the wife feel about that?

I can be an alpha male sometimes and it really makes them uncomfortable. Everything I do usually stands to them as some sort of aggregation. They are usually the ones in the alpha position telling my wifey to jump. She still does it sometimes but since ive come around shes been standing up for her self allot more! Except to my grandfather-in-law, hes prior Service and really likes me and even invites to his house for beer.

I wouldnt mind living in the south, beautiful country and its hard to find places like this in Cali.

So if the patriarch of the family likes you, why don't the rest of them? They sound like stuck up a**holes if you ask me... Totally not promoting the ideals of the south by doing that.

Hey All

I'm from Texas, and to honestly say I find it hard to hunt public land, I have to drive 1.5 hrs to shoot my rifle. Maybe its because I don't have a lot of time to scout, but hopefully I will be going to the desert to shoot some coyotes in January. I was thinking around the Salton Sea. The plus side is you cant be the weather out here. Anyone here know of some good areas around Palm Springs, or Salton Sea, or even Blythe. I would also like to shoot a Hog, I,m willing to pay for a good Hog hunt. To me though Texas is home, and Mississippi is home as well.

Here is some pics of me. http://shootersforum.com/showthread....235#post386235

Take Care

The family is a big part of my leaving.....I wouldn't mind leaving to San Antonio. I loved San Antonio when I was stationed there! Still love the southern hospitality!

Wow, been busy at work and havent been able to log in to G & G for a while. I like this local forum deal. Im born and raised in the city of Los Angeles, lived in Texas, and Washington for while moved back a few years ago for family obligations. I used to hunt hog up in the central coast area but havent been able to make the time to get up there in way to long. I think the only cure is a Mosin Nagant California hog safari.
