Hog Hunting in FL.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in northeast or central Fl. to hunt Hogs. My 3 sons got their first hunting rifles this year and I would like to take them on a hog hunt. If any one knows of a god place please let me know

Its been years since I've hunted that area so I don't know whats hot but there is lots of public hunting land near Jax. to the west toward Lake City, there is the Oceaola National Forest. check with the game comm. (myfwc.com) there is a few wildlife management areas up there too.

Thanks blaster. We've gone target shooting in Oceaola but never hunting. Didn't know what the Hog hunting would be like there, but I will check it out.

moose is right those are good hog & deer hunting mgt. areas. they are on the west coast though and a couple of hours ride for yoyu. if that is not a problem, check out the Lower Swannee (sp.) Wildlife Refuge near Chiefland. It is open to hunting and is FREE. they even have special late season hog hunts.

If your looking for a pay hunt there is aguy out of Flagler county thats real good. Still hunt, spot and stalk, dogs or primitive 125.00 for the day no kill no pay. I went and pulled a 260 lb sow.
Ther is another out of Lake city thats good to but more expensive. Pm me if you intersted and I'll send you the info.

Moose is right aswell Steinhatchee is the bomb for hog, deer, and fishing as well bull reds are on fire right now. A friend of mine at work has a hunting camp there and we have a great time turkey is real good to. Spring starts in march.

I joined this forum for just this sort of information (sorry to hi-jack your thread). I have 2 daughter that used to go whitetail hunting with me and have been pretty upset we haven't been hunting since moving to FL (back to FL for me). They don't carry weapons yet, but still enjoy the time outdoors with me. Any suggestions are great.

Stikbutter, would mind if I pm'ed you for information too?

Hello stikbutter, I guess you are the person to contact. I am a noob and need help.
I live in Winter Haven and am looking for a guided hog hunt. I am disabled and have never hunted hog before.
Who and where should I look?

Hope you can help me out.

Thanks so much.

Mike

Hog Hunting

A friend and I hunted last weekend just north of Okeechobee on a thousand acre ranch with a guide. Lots of hogs, guide put on a great show (we all know that's part of the deal) and overall a pretty professional deal. Reasonable cost ($170) and you leave with a quartered hog, directions to a good wildlife butcher and fun memories. Email me and I'll give you the phone # if you are interested.

Florida Hog Hunt

Again, if you want a "Pay" hunt, try Bear Bridge Ranch in Eustis, Fla. My wife and I went last year and had a great time. Being "rookies", the guide took us out, spent alot of time answering our questions and made sure our hunt was successful. You are guaranteed a hog!!!!!

Up in our area, out in the sticks near Jacksonville, many convienience stores sell a magazine called Hog Hunter that's published nearby in Baxley, Georgia. Lots of good info in there, and the classifieds have adds for guided hunts. I don't know how far south they sell it, but if you see one, buy it. You won't be sorry.
