This basic Savage/Stevens/Springfield .22 rifle design (NO connection whatsoever to Springfield Armory) was built in many variations over many years, and even marketed under a variety of store names. Mostly, differences are in sights, stock, bolt knobs, trigger guards and rear receiver cap styles. Basic action remained essentially unchanged.
If you need parts, Numrich has plenty, with majority of action parts pretty much interchangeable.
I have the earlier Springfield M187A, and it easily outshoots my much newer Ruger 10-22 and Marlin M60!
