He's neither fish nor fowl...Democrats aren't that much in love with him, either. He didn't do himself any favors the day nurses were picketing outside, because he had rolled back patients-per-nurse staffing requirements. He told the audience "those people out there are special interests, and we kick butt on special interests."

He made a big deal when he was running about not needing money from special interests because he's already rich, then raked it in hand-over-fist from pro-business groups and associations. I'm still trying to figure out how a bunch of businessmen banded together aren't special interests, but nurses and school janitors are.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been anyone worth replacing him with on either side, that had a chance of getting elected.

Here's a suggestion, Troy. Vote Feinstein out, and run Arnold for the Senate. If he wins, that would free up the Governor's chair and you could try to get someone decent elected to replace the Lieutenant Governor, who presumably would fleet up to be Governor at least for awhile.

He's a "B" grade actor at best; I can't imagine him being any better in another role.

That actually isn't far-fetched at all, Cyrano. He's going to term out this time around, and the only place for him to go that might be considered "up" instead of out is into the Senate. Neither Feinstein nor Boxer are all that young anymore, either. And relatively speaking, I guess he'd be an improvement on either of them...

The bloom has long left the rose (so to say)

from the California governor. Calif. is once again in near desperate financial straits and the governor has no real ideas on how to save the situation.
