Are these gun shops asking for voter registration cards before they sell? How do you tell a persons political party by looking at them. One way I can tell is a Democrat will be wearing a worn out Carhart jacket and a Republican would be wearing a new Carhart jacket trying so hard to look the part, but not really fitting in.

All's I know is

When I look at an ineffective, restrictive, wacky, and/or unconstitutional new gun control law proposal, I almost always see a "D" next to the party affiliation of the sponsor/co-sponsors.

That would be a designation of the Politicians political party and only such. To tag all Democrats as anti-gun would be tantamount to saying all Republicans are careless hunters and shoot their hunting companions as did Vice-President Cheney. He no more represents gun owners as do any other Politician.
