Hey I was wondering if anyone could tell me or tell me a website where I can find a picture of a Armi Tanfoglio Giuseppe .25 cal. I need to know where the serial number is? Where I thought it would be are a bunch of file marks. There is a number on the barrel when you take the slide off, but that comes back to a .22 long rifle.
That is a real 25 auto. I've got one of those also. (It was my grandpa's. My dad has it right now) I've got the Original box in my hands right now.
It is a GT Targa. Mine is a Model GT27B. The serial number should be right on the side of it best I can remember. (I dont have right now as I said above) But, I have my serial number on the box also.
If the serial numbers have been filed off, then DO NOT get caught with this gun. You will most likely go to jail. I would take it to the police also. The gun isn't worth spending time in jail for.
I trust you guys, but I'm wondering why its illegal for a gun not to have serial numbers...I can envision that a criminal would do such a thing so nobody could trace a gun. However, we supposedly do not register guns in Tennessee (although I have told everybody on all the gun forums what guns I own, and the stores did background checks, etc). But is it illegal, ie, is there a law in Tennessee that says you may not own a gun with no serial number. Just curious...Thanks, B

Depending on date of the gun manufacture, it's a FEDERAL violation to remove, alter or change the serial# of a firearm. You well go to one of those 'nice' prisons.
Take it to your local law enforcement, I would go to the county sheriff, be prepared to tell them how you acquired it.
Or toss it in a very deep body of water.

Here it is from The Code of Federal Regulations (27CFR, part 478)...I assume this is it, right?

Just a heads up. Before GCA1968 I don't believe guns were required to have a S/N albeit most did. Be carefull not to confuse no S/N with a altered or destroyed one. If altered follow above advice, it's not bad advice by any means
Armi Tanfoglio Giuseppe .25 cal. is the pistol model I'm waiting to see pictures of...or at least more information. That was the gun asked about by seagkmb? Is the GT27B supposed to be similar to the Giuseppe .25?

I ECHO THAT, CHECK IT OUT MANY OLDER AND CHEAPER IMPORTED FIREARMS DIDN'T HAVE S/N . HATE TO SEE ANY FIREARM GET DESTROYED, BUT IF THE SERIAL NO. IS FILED OFF IT NEEDS TO GO STRAIGHT TO THE COPS. IF YOU HAVE A KNOWLEGIBLE OFFICER THAT YOU CAN "TRUST" LET HIM CHECK IT OUT!
