Molotovs,Missiles,mines,grenades &muzzle loaders

I was just perusing the internet when I found this...

And I thought CA was bad enough banning .22LR because of birds....

Any muzzle loader hunters here from the Peoples Republic of NJ?

Apparently, the same firearms our founding fathers used to put food on the table and defend themselves with are the same things more equatable to terrorist tools such as, molotov cocktails, improvised explosive devices etc . So this...

Is soon to be "classified" as the same thing as ... this

NJ Legislature bill number 2116
Plans on banning ALL .50 caliber firearms with exception of shotguns.

"Destructive device" means any device, instrument or object
designed to explode or produce uncontrolled combustion, including
(1) any explosive or incendiary bomb, mine or grenade; (2) any
rocket having a propellant charge of more than four ounces or any
missile having an explosive or incendiary charge of more than one
quarter of an ounce; (3) any weapon capable of firing a projectile of
a caliber of 50 caliber or greater [than 60 caliber] or, in the case of
an antique firearm, antique handgun, traditional muzzleloader rifle,
or black powder muzzleloader having in-line ignition, a center
hammer or an under hammer which have been approved for hunting
in this State of a caliber greater than 60 caliber,
except a shotgun or
shotgun ammunition generally recognized as suitable for sporting
purposes; (4) any Molotov cocktail or other device consisting of a
breakable container containing flammable liquid and having a wick
or similar device capable of being ignited. The term does not
include any device manufactured for the purpose of illumination,
distress signaling, line-throwing, safety or similar purposes.

They already had a huge debate with pro gun activists a little while ago. I dont think it went too well. The final vote is on Dec. 15.

I just bought a brick of .22LR this week, so it can't be too illegal here in California...

I assume you're talking about the lead ban because of the condors; I guess it probably does include .22's. That ban only affects the parts of the state considered condor range, and they never hung around these parts to begin with.

I was stationed in NJ as a USMC Recruiter. I couldn't beleive what you had to go through to buy a handgun. My wife wanted one so she got her NJ drivers license but after being told she had to fill out an application woth the local Pd just to buy one we decided to forget it. Because I was stationed in the North west corner of NJ we moved across the river to PA where people actually have freedoms

The East coast is, or has become, the Left coast. Look out California.

Well, reading the law as written above, your .45 or .50 caliber coal-burner is still legal, but your grandad's old Brown Bess may be illegal.

Still a bad law - it is equating things basically unrelated. Never heard of a crime, let alone terrorist acts, committed with any BP gun. Not in the last many decades anyways.

Personally I don't even see why they need a law for any of this stuff. One, someone who isn't a criminal already and doesn't deal with the black market has no the h#!! idea where to even find a grenade! Two, what kind of dumb @$$ "terrorist" or gangster is going to use a muzzle loader to commit a crime or an attack? and three, if I was a criminal who didn't follow the laws anyways, I could make a dozen Molotov cocktails without any one knowing and use them when I darn well please. Does New Jersey actually have problems with bank robbers using antique muzzle loaders? are there grenades and Molotov Cocktails going off like they were in a war zone? The people of New Jersey should be pi$$ed that their state legislator is actually wasting time on a bill like this rather than doing something positive in their communities. This barely has anything to do with the second amendment and the only thing to come out of this is wasteful spending. I can't believe people haven't jumped up and finally said, "we have had ENOUGH!!!"

No more wasteful spending!!! no wonder our economy is in the crapper.

Why do they even bother with such things? Have I missed it or is NJ having a problem with hand grenades lately? The world is falling down around us financially, and they're talking about hand grenades?
I hope Ted Kennedy dosen't hear about this, or my state will be next.
