Hi-Point Carbine in 357 sig?

I've been toying with the idea for a while of using a 40 cal carbine action with a 9mm barrel and a custom chamber to get a 357 sig carbine.

Does anyone have info on whether or not this is workable?

I'm leaning to the workable side.

It would be workable ... assuming you can get the barrel custom made. I'd say that a carbine version of a .357 SIG would be incredible.

The 5.7x28 would be neat.

I'd like to see that 5.7 in a small mag fed bolt action.

But the Hi-Point in 357 seems too easy.

Perhaps on a Ruger 77 Mark II like the Ruger 77/22Hornet, only thing is that the ballistics of the 5.7x28 are quite similar to the .22 Hornet. It would be nice with a Ruger rotary magazine...

Someone on the old HPFF had done the 357 Sig conversion. I don't know if he has moved to the other Hi Point forum but you might go over there and ask around.
