Floggem, Const. Those primadonna's just can't handle the fact that there is such a thing as inexpensive quality. Or put another way, that 90% of the cost of thier precious S&W, Ruger, or Dan Wesson is name recognision value. Kinda like, "I shop at Saks, do you?"

That "slab" on top also gives great surface contact with no sharp edges. You can rack that thing before you can get a good hold on a Smith or Beretta

i owned a hi-point, didn't like it one bit. heavy, ugly, jammed constantly and the plastic grips just dont feel good in my hand. and no, i'm not a gun snob, after i sold my hi-point i put an additional $200 towards the purchase of a cz .40 cal, and i've never had one problem with it. gotta love the eastern bloc, they make a RELIABLE inexpensive weapon.

I didn't like the slippery grips either, took a dremel to mine. Instant "custom" checkering!

i just don't see a highpoint being ugly. infact i never seen a ugly gun at all. to me every gun is a work of art . my .45 highpoint out shot some high dollar .45's and they wasn't happy that extra weight comes in handy sure it's heavy but look at it this way if you get used to shooting the highpoint then any other handgun is gonna be like a toy gun in your hands and will only improve your shooting skills with them.

Yeah I had a pachamyr slip-on, but I didn't like the extra girth, so went with the dremel. I like Hi-Points alot, but I'll be the first to admit they're FUGLY!

I just took my new JHP 45 to the range yesterday. It shot better then expected. I would love to meet someone who says the Hi Point is a POS. That's why I got this one, I do not go by what other people opinion is on something. I check it out for myself. To many of the complaints were of people who said that they had never shot a Hi Point, but they complained about it anyway. By the way nice 40

It doesn't matter what it is you will always find a lemon in anything. Even the best cars built will always find a lemon once in a while. I am willing to bet SIG has had a few complaints about a gun or two, Taurus, Colt, Smith and Wession, Glock, so on and so on... ALL OF THEM DO NOT BUILD THE PERFECT GUN ALL THE TIME.
