Just to pass the word. Seems that the Mossberg 464 lever action has problems with extractor breakage. Seems the extractor is made from thin stamped metal and can't handle the stress. Breakage has been reported within the first few rounds on several rifles on another forum.
Just passing the info along.

Might be a heat treat problem , the firing pins on the first Silver Reserves had problem also. a quick ph call is all it takes to a replacement part free.-JMJ--
Yup, mine broke while cycling some dummy rounds. Mossberg sent a new one via FedEx free of charge. It was an easy swap out. If you are adverse to swapping a part yourself, Mossberg in Eagle Rock is happy to do it for you. It may take 3-4 weeks, but will come back right.
My extractor has held up to 52 rounds of abuse at the range so far... I am confident this one is just fine now.
I must admit to being surprised as Mossberg has a long history with
metals used in firearms. I am anxious to learn if this problem is somewhat limited or is widespread in the firearm.
Mossberg should jump on this problem with total aggression.
