Model 500k

I have a Mossberg model 500k, it's a clip-fed pump 12ga. and i was just wondering if anyone knew about what it's worth.

as far as i can find out it was made in the 1950's but i'm not positive

i could not find the 500k in the ninth edition of modern gun values.there was a 200k that was clip fed with the c-lect-choke.it was made 1955-1959.the 500 field grade with uncheckered walnut stocks was introduced in 1961.without knowing the wood on the stocks or the overall condition of the shotgun i would guesstimate in the $150-$175 range.

Are you sure it is a 500k? the only slide action repeater with a detachable mag for mossberg is the Model 200k in 12Ga. 3-round detachable box mag. 28inch bbl. C-lect choke. plain pistol-grip stock. Black nylon slide handle. Weight: about 7.5lbs. Made from 1955-59. Good-$104, Excellent-$145, New in box-$176.

My 30th edition "Gun traders Guide" has at least 100 mossberg shotguns listed and this was the only slide action repeater that had a detachable mag and the K designation. there were others with the mags but they all seem to be bolt action. There are no model 500's with a detachable mag listed in my book.

I hope this helps some.

Well I guess $150 would be about right then. By the way, Welcome to Gun and Game and we hope you stick around and share anything gun related and some stuff not so gun related.
