That is at least 1-1/2 hour south of me. No offense, but I can honestly say you have not seen the real Northwoods. It is nice, but a just a blend of small town and woods. I and my wife have lived in Milwaukee area. We gave that up for something prinstine and remote.

If your ever up there again you should venture over in Northwestern Wisconsin or UP. It makes Eagle River and St. Germain look a bit metro.

Views around here and in UP.....

I like having the "see thru" for night visits.

I had a Tasco 4x32mm scope. I just replaced it with a Centerpoint 3x9x32mm. The paralax is set for 50 yards.

Yes tree rats do charge! That is why most got the death sentence here, some were pardoned by mistake.

Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!....

I decided I had enough cabin fever and got outside plowed a lane to our compose pile. We used a combo of 36" snow bank and compose for the backstop. The shooting lane was 75 feet, not what I wanted but better than staying inside. We got my son's savage mark 2 FV out. The sky was clear but only 20 degrees. He shot a round off and the scope was 1-1/2 foot off. After 30 minutes he was hitting the can easily.

We got my 10/22 out. My son set-up the can in fresh snow to track the shots. I got lucky, 3" to the right was POI. After 10 minutes I was hitting what I was aiming for. The wife gave us some expired eggs...Hehehehehe. I was hitting them after a little tweaking with the scope again.

All in all I have to say a 40+ year old that has not shot for years my 10/22 with some tweaks is made me very happy. I may not win 1st place at any competition, but at least for now I can group them 1-1/2" at 75 feet. The problem is not the rifle but the owner!

Mods:
bolt buffer
Lightly floated the barrel with rubber pad under barrel in BB area
Centerpoint 3x9x32 AR 22 scope
Weaver see thur scope mounts
