Thank you Freewilly57,

You are a nice guy. Let me know what you are working on and I'll keep an eye out for parts for you too.

Yeh, I will definitely need some help figuring out the electrical wiring and all. What I know how to do (like work on cars) I do well but the other stuff I am shakey on (security systems for example) I won't do unless I have a friend who can guide me through it so I do it right.

Hate to experiment on my own and tear something up that would be fine in qualified hands.

Well, I have free tickets to a big ole Rock and Roll concert tonight so my oldest son and I are gonna make like a baby and "head out" heh heh

I was looking through some of my old concert and drag racing t-shirts to let my son wear tonight and I cannot BELIEVE I was able to wear a medium back in 1980! I could use that for a headband now!

Ya'll have a great night, and thanks again for making me feel at home here

Time to set up your infra red digital game cammera (Sportsmans Guide now for $250)
could scroll thru after work see whats going on when your not around, best part body heat sets it off, the nighttime cammera would be a ++!
For what it could cost getting robbed or worse two them cammeras wouldent hurt
over the course of a year what a fella spends on beer or cig's could easily buy some sort of security. at least knowing somebody is lurking round is a start.
its useally when you least expect it that folks like that strike.

So my son and I come home from the concert last night and this is what was on the news about 2 residents robbed in their darn driveways!

And the police told people the EXACT thing I told my wife to do in this case (drive around some and see if being followed and pay attention!)

News 14 | 24 Hour Local News | TOP STORIES | 2 shoppers robbed in their driveways

So will she carry NOW? NO!

I asked her what she would do if next time she isn't so lucky and she just said shie isn't going to carry a gun.

I said well if you don't want to protect yourself how about our kids than?!!

What if I get you the non lethal type bullets?!!!!! I asked her.

She said her carrying a gun just wasn't going to happen.

I said so you are prepared to just die than? She just said "Yeh, I am gonna die" sarcastically and rolled her eyes. Having been in several situations where I could have died I guess I actually have a clue bad stuff can happen to good people.

Guess I need to hire her a darn BODYGUARD!!!!

I am majorally ill with her! They also had ANOTHER story from our area not included in the first two I mentioned where they forced a guy from the driveway into his house! That didn't seem to phase her either.

Man o man this is making me mad!

Unfortunately it is only going to get worse with this economy. Somehow, she really needs to either carry, or at the very very least, get her some self defense classes, Not that I think Karate is even close to having a gun, but something is better than nothing. I'm lucky that I had no trouble at all getting my wife to agree to carry, now she won't leave home without it! I think she carries more than I do.

Could use a cheap, but good set of front fenders for a 55 belair, I've got a 2dr Hardtop post model that I'm doing a frame off on, it will take me years, but hopefully some day I will have her back on the road.

Use to have some 56 parts but no 55 stuff. Worth checking though!
Hope you are doing well. I have been packing heat 24/7 since this thing with my wife. My neighbor called the other day and told me about someone else locally that got jumped in their driveway and dragged inside and tied up and robbed. Crappy economy isn't gonna make it any better either.

I now have sensors up and neighbors are staying alert too. I have got 44 (.44) reasons why those guys better NEVER let me catch them on my property again!

I'm with ya, both myself and my wife have our CPL's on the way, and we are both carrying already anyway, especially since today is the day our world changes in a bad way. The so called change in washington is not going to be good for any of us. Other than that we are doing well, luckily so far we both have our jobs, which with the economy and being in Michigan could change at any moment. Glad I'm not in the auto industry..

Don't mind me asking, what part of NC are you in?

This sounds very familiar to a similar story, to someone I know that had robbed in the Raleigh area.

That could have turned to kidnapping/murder.
Good thing you were home. LOL.

She should have some sort of self defense weapon. Folding knife, pepper spray etc. Doesnt even need to be a gun, but something in case a surprise attack comes along...which seems to be common in NC.

Between Charlotte and Monroe NC.

Same thing happened in Charlotte and Matthews (Matthews on same day) except in those cases the people went to answer the drivers questions and ended up getting robbed instead of what my wife did was high tail it away from them and alert someone like me with a gun.

Used to live in the Asheville area, my now-ex's Mom an Step dad and us both lived in rural areas with onl one way in and out. Both Her step dad and I carried as I worked with him framing houses. Her and her mom are both decent shots as well. At least your wife had sense enough to go where she knew she'd find safety. Anymore it doesnt take much to turn an already edgy person, like us, in to a borderline paranoid. Hope she changes her tune and carries at least SOMETHING now.
