anyone know what ruger is willing to replace on the lcp recall? i got my paperwork today, and wanna make sure I know what they are willing to do. I heard that they will put a bigger slide lock on, blue the barrel, redo the trigger...is this true? will they do anything else? do the automatically upgrade everything possible or do you have to request it? thanks
just check their site. There are several threads on here as well. Had mie done. Nothing dramatic but first clas service. My gun looks the same as it did. I have an extra magazine and a cool hat....

My experience was pretty much the same. Got my LCP back in exactly one week. Now that's service.
Found my post from a different thread regarding my experience with the LCP recall.
For those wondering about the LCP recall and how it was handled by Ruger. I am most impressed with the whole program and their customer service. Exactly one week ago Friday night UPS picked up my LCP at the house and ran off with it to the factory. I was told by Ruger it would take two weeks to turn it around. Well...they beat that by a full week. I got my LCP delivered back to me about 15 minutes ago. I was more than just a bit surprised. Anyway, they replaced the trigger mechanism and added a few more safety changes as noted in their letter enclosed. They also added a new magazine with finger extension and a Ruger ball cap for my trouble. Considering I never had a single problem with this fine little pistol before they recalled it I feel they really went out of their way to take care of me the customer. Totally opposite of the way Kahr treated me when they shipped out a broken magazine with the new pistol I bought from them. Kahr will never see any more of my money but Ruger certainly will.
How long was it from the time anyone registered for the LCP recall to getting the box in the mail for the return? Seems I have been waiting for at least 6 weeks maybe more. They siad I think first come first serve as parts availability permit...
I'd guess you'll see the box any day.. I think it was well over a month between when I signed up on Ruger's website to when the box arrived.. If all else fails, call them.. Very friendly folks, and helpful!!
Well, it turns out a day after I asked the forum how long is it taking to get the return mailer,,,, it came in the mail.
I'll send it out tomorrow, Friday Jan 2nd and start the clock again.
Aviator
Give them a call.. I called and they emailed me a Next Day Air shipping label.. I slapped it on the box and I'm expecting to see the hangun in the next few days.
Its been 3 weeks now since I sent my LCP in for the mod. Got a post card in the mail today stating that they are short a "critcal" part and the return will be delayed. They suggest a 5-6 week turn time now from the date that I sent it in. That makes mine still 2-3 weeks out.
I sent my LCP back to Ruger almost 3 weeks ago and was getting very surprized that I've not received it back yet. After all, everybody on this forum has been getting their's back within 2 weeks. Well I received a card in the mail yesterday from Ruger stating that they're running 4-5 weeks behind. Pretty bummed about the whole thing but Oh well. I think it'll still be a better firearem when it returns.
They also told me 4-5 weeks because they were short a part. However, my came yesterday which made it only a 3 week wait. They had run out of the complimentary finger extension magazine so they sent the gun back without it. They are going to send the mag when they get it. They didn't want me to have to wait longer for the gun. I think they decided to incur the cost of two mailings for the sake of customer servive. Good for them.
I just got my LCP back today. Has anybody noticed a catch (?) when inserting the magazine. Before I sent it out, the magazine slid in very smoothly and easily, now about half way in it gets caught. I can obvioulsy get it in but I'm not sure if I should have to.
Well after making my post, having waited 3 weeks and then getting the postcard about another several weeks I too got my LCP in the mail minus the " finger extension floor plate" for the magazine. (BTW, what is that ???) It will be shipped later. OK, I am happy.
My new magazine does have some slight hangup or whatever when inserting. Don't remember that from before.
