value of H&K 91

A friend of mine has fallen on hard times and wants me to sell his H&K 91 that he's owned for more than twenty years. He's asked me to try and get it sold for him but I have no idea of it's value on today's market. It was made in 1981 and is in at least 98 or 99% condtion. He said he put one mag thru it when he bought it and has sat in his gun cabinet all these years. Has a sling, two steel mags and has no bipod. Can anyone advise me on it's value? Thanks rholloway2@tampabay.rr.com

I say it's between $2200-$3200.

i bought an early 91 about 8 weeks ago. It came with 20 20round steel mags, the illuminated german scope and claw mount, bipod, and blank firing adapter and cost me $4,000. I would pay $2500 unseen for this item, and would not sell for less than $3500 if it is as good as you claim. A quick search on Gunbroker will show the stuff there is either crap or clone or both. The clones might not be bad, but there is nothing like owning the real deal. The only thing negative about them other than the high cost is that the triggers need to be reworked, unless you can find a sniper drop in trigger group. These are pricey and uncommon.

Anyway, good luck with the sale of the gun. BTW, there is a gun show this upcoming weekend here in Fort Lauderdale. It would sell fast if he made the trip, and the .308 guns typically do.
