Same in PA, no sign means no problem carrying. Doesn't prevent the bank from going ape-poop on you if they see a silhouette, though. Pretty much everywhere it's carry at your own risk, but if it's adequately concealed they really aren't going to know, so if it's completely legal and no one knows, you should be fine.

Seeing a silhouette means it's no longer concealed and you could get in trouble and lose your CCW for that.

It's a really gray area in regards to the laws about that, but most of the time they do have a security guard there at the banks. Kansas law has a list of places you are not allowed to carry and a bank is one of them. They don't need a sign either, we are supposed to remember all the places we are not allowed.
This is true, but Kroger also own the Kwik Shop convenience store chain, which unilaterally prohibit CC. That was my primary protest. Never been in Dillons since I got my carry license, but I will also avoid them, just on principle, since they are owned by the same parent company.

The Kroger stores here in this area allow Concealed Carry. That is one of the reasons we shop at Kroger.

I used to work in the Kwik Shop office. Krogers own several chains of c-stores throughout the US. Kwik Shops in Topeka don't have any gun signs. In fact, that was the reason I got my CC. I missed a robbery at one by 15 minutes.

According to my CCH instructor, even a silhouette is considered "concealed." It's not considered a "good idea" but it is considered concealed... Also, Bunny, I stand corrected. The Kwik Shops around Lawrence that I used to frequent are posted no CCH, as well as the one in Baldwin City. I assumed that all were, but apparently not. The lady I spoke to at Kroger also spoke of it as though it were a global policy. Glad to hear that isn't totally the case. Maybe there's hope yet.

That would be an interesting lawsuit since the company is not being consistent throughout all their stores. Of course, maybe the criminals ripped the signs down here.

Only in states where that's illegal TT.

Heck, in WA, Open Carry is legal, as is CC with a license. So if you have your CPL (concealed pistol license), then you don't have to worry how concealed or open you are, as it's all legal.

You may want to check out the Texas forum over on OpenCarry.org, TT... they're currently fighting hard to get OC allowed in your state. I just think it's funny when I hear of people saying "Why are you carrying that out in the open? This isn't Texas..." since it's illegal to do that in Texas, currently.

Everytime I'm reciting a law it's usually Texas law because that's what I know best lol.

If OC were to be legalized in Texas I still would CC and not OC.

I think just about anything you guys have talked about is legal till you get a prosecutor with a stick up his butt that wants to be tough on gun crime and run for Mayor.

They should be thankful that armed citizens are patrolling the aisles ready to help protect the unarmed people inside.

Point of clarification:

You aren't "on patrol" nor were you issued a concealed weapons permit so that you can protect society. Let's not go over the edge here. If you want to assume that responsibility, you need to apply to and get hired by a police department. As a private citizen, your duty is only to protect your own life and possibly others only as a last resort. That doesn't mean that you get to seek out and engage any potential bad guy in a public place.

Here in Utah, which is OC as well as CC, it is all over the map as to when and where to carry. Most malls, being privately owned, and larger retailers can establish a no firearms rule if the choose, and many do. If you are seen with a weapon, they can ask you to either take your gun outside and put it in your vehicle or leave. And if you choose to continue carrying after being asked to stop, you can be charged with trespassing.

All I know is that here in Kansas, unless there is a sign posted prohibiting carrying a weapon you're good ( with the obvious exceptions).

Exclamation

Here is a letter I use. Feel free to copy and modify/use it as it applies to you.

Dear Sir or Madame,
I have noticed the sign posted at your establishment that expresses your wish that no handguns are allowed to be carried in or around said establishment. This causes me to question your motives for the posting.
Have you made enemies you are afraid will do you some harm? If so, a mere sign surely would not deter a person bent on doing so.
Are you “Just following orders” from a superior or person of authority? Please forward this letter to them.

Allow me to point out a few things to you:
First, I am licensed to carry a concealed firearm by the State of Arkansas. I passed a training course, TWO background checks (state and FBI), a proficiency test proving my ability to safely handle and shoot a handgun, and paid almost $200 in fees, not to mention the cost of my firearm. You are probably safer from crime because of this, since a criminal never knows whether they are accosting an armed or unarmed victim.
Secondly, The Constitution of the United States,in the Second Amendment, states “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Thirdly, The Constitution of the State of Arkansas, Article II, Section 5, states “The citizens of this state shall have the right to keep and bear arms for their common defense.”
Lastly, keep in mind that an armed person is a citizen, an unarmed person is a subject!
I would also like to express my gratitude for your acceptance of the liability of my personal safety while in your establishment since you have seen fit to deny my right of self defense.
Because of your sign, I will seek out and patronize other businesses and establishments that allow the LAWFUL entry of LEGALLY armed citizens.
Thank you,
An Armed Citizen

oh keep in mind in many states that dont allow CC inside establishments that serve alc. will still let you carry inside IF you are LEO undercover or a Private investigator ON DUTY such as florida. the key for PI in florida is that you have to have ccw G license and PI which is hard. not many people in florida qualify for it since it requires 2 years of 40hour weeks working is an underling to an experianced PI .what gets most people is that it has to be 40 hours each week for like 100 weeks . that is really hard to do without an internship from a major company.
