I painted the old stock the one that had the crack. Azgunnut gave me another wood stock and i am in the process of redoing it... it needed a little tlc and some wood putty and sanding and fitting... lol. im going to stain the new wood stock once im done working with it...

when im done with the other stock ill put the sks in that one and take some pics... i like having one gun and a few different stocks that ways i can change when i want depending on what im doing... plus funds are low so the safe is bare for now...

It looks good Larmus. I have the sister to that one with a Desert Earth stock and mags. My mags work great. Have you shot it yet? Interested to see what you do with the wood stock. I'm getting ready to play with a Mosin Nagant stock and I am looking for ideas.

Azgunnut01, I've sanded down the stock getting all the finish off and have filled in some of the holes i found... im moving the sling mount from under neath on the butt stock to, the same side as the front sling attachment, just behind the hand grip. i filled in the bayo slot and will san it smooth. i was thinking of doing some burning, where you torch the surface to bring up wood grain or torching in something like a tiger stripe pattern and then staining it a nice Bombay Mahogany Gloss and then putting on a Polycrylic in a clear gloss. Thats my idea so far...

They say CAPCO, are screwed on and really give her a nice solid feel and grip. They also make her longer which feels more comfortable.

I like the foregrip alot, for hunting, its kind of useless since I use the bipod, but for just plinking or aesthetics, its pretty cool.

And they have the nicest wood, don't they?
Is it much more resistant to cuts and nicks than Chinese wood? That on my Mini 30 seems ten times harder than my Norinco's wood.

My Sweetheart...1954 Tula all matching except for reciever cover. (makes me wonder if the rest of the rifle is in fact a '54 Tula, but oh well...)
Also pictured are her Comrades: 1944 Tula 91/30 ex sniper, and 1944 Izzy Laminated M44...

I don't know how I missed this thread. Here is my M59/66A1 made at the Zastavia arsenal in 1968. I got her about 6 years ago for $249. The scope and mount are new. I just got 100 rounds of Wolf hollow point which she digests flawlessly. She'll be going "bang!" this weekend.
