500 feeding problem

I have an old "off brand" mossberg 500 that has a problem feeding the shells, its a 12 gauge, basically when the shells are loaded, and ive tried multiple shell lengths and shot, it doesnt load into the chamber. The elevator looks like it should be in the proper location but it doesnt actually load shells. After its racked then I can pull the trigger like normal but with no shells in it.

i'm not sure i understand your problem.the shells are pushed into the chamber by the bolt, via the bolt carrier when the slide is accuated. there is a video on youtube showing the complete field-strip.follow the procedure and see if that cures the problem.and btw welcome to g&g forums.
