pf-9 problems
has anyone else had any problems with things breaking on their pf9??
i have had a firing pin break and the pin that holds the gun together broke at the range while i was shooting that was scary.
Nope, I haven't had any trouble at all. But I've only put a couple hundred rounds through mine so far. Last time out, I had 1 fail-to-eject which was probably my fault from limp wristing. I did have a bit of trouble with the magazine dropping out when I racked the slide, but traced that to me inadvertently hitting the mag release (dang, that's a little gun!).
Seems like I saw something about a broken assembly pin over on KTOG.org, and Keltec does have some trouble with broken firing pins. They say dry firing is a no-no. I'm sure Keltec will send you replacement parts, but you might want to send it to them just to let them give a once over.

The only problem I've had w/ my p11, (double stack version of yours I believe) is that the ejector broke. Extracted fine, but the pin that "kicked" it out broke. Kel Tec mailed me a new one within no time at all with easy directions to replace it! Very good customer service.
When reassembling, you have to make sure that the assembly pin "clicks" into place. If not, it can back out and snap like a dry twig. Broken firing pins are usually from dry firing (without a snap cap), but some early PF9's had a firing pin hole that was a bit big so it might be worth a trip back to the mother ship.
As a bonus, they usually give it a good fluff and buff as well. If you have a plastic magazine release and have been having trouble with the mag coming loose they will replace that with a metal one as well.

Plenty of those around in the Houston area but the price has gone up some when the supply thinned out.
They are getting harder to find ever since the LCP failed.
Do you consider a recall as a failure? I haven't read anything on the LCP failing and dealers can't seem to keep them on their shelves even at the higher prices now. Just curious.
