I have been hunting turkeys for 7 years now.....and still have not killed one! But I am seriously addicted to it because of not getting one yet. I actually had a bird 2 years ago land not 3 feet from me, with my shotgun pointing the other way from it! we looked at each other, and I think we both started to laugh.
Another time I forgot to load my gun......I missed with my bow 1 time, and all others I got busted! But I tell you what, it is the funnest hunting time I have all year, I absolutely love springtime in the woods and this year have acqyuired 3 farms to hunt on, will have my 6yr old and my wife with me this year, so maybe they will be good luck charms. Their r 2 birds on one farm that are 1/2 white, which I don't know if they were pen raised and got out or what, but they sure are cool looking. will try monday (opening of fall season here) to get a pic.

Used to hunt'em but haven't
in the last 2 seasons.
Don't enjoy it as much as I
used to. Can be very frustating.
Might try again this season.

one of my favorites is spring turkey, here in upstate ny,not much better then calling a turkey in from a couple 100 yds away.and then having the tom hang up for 15minutes at 70 yds, only to finally close the distance.the wait is exhilarating.

I love every bit of it, the last couple years i havent done too well, my best was one in the fall only 21lb(i think they weigh less then) 9ish beard and 1 1/2 spurs, cool hunt, i was half hunting and half deer scouting when i noticed that we were walking parrallell to each other 100yrds apart, called a couple times to get him to close the distance.
