Just visiting Lawrence from MN. Looks to me as of the folks around here worship a funny looking blue bird |

Have you seen the big Jayhawk statues around town in all the different themes?

Man, they've even got busses painted like chickenhawks up there
(although i really can't say much right now, my team is currently 1-4 in the big 12, and it sounds like their sports program is about ready to implode )

| Former Ks. resident
Hello to all Ks. folks. I was born/raised in SE Ks., spent 5 years at KU/Lawrence till I graduated and they made me leave. Spent next 24 years in SE Ks. till escaping to NW Arkansas 4 &1/2 years ago. I got tired of Ks. property taxes and being punished by the state for owning stuff......first year we paid personal property taxes (car/truck/boat/motorcycles) it was 25% of what we had paid in Ks. previously......Real estate taxes about 1/2 what they were in Ks., too. Got hunting license for 1st time here this year. For $25 you get license, 4 deer tags and 2 turkey tags. Quite a bargain....

But Oahu the most populated one smells like garbage. Alot of people, cars, and just junk really stink up the place. Pineapple fields are really bad too once they have harvested the pineapples. Plus I think girls from KS are alot better than some of the local variety. However the warm weather is a huge plus.

Worlock1422...Howdy...from another native Kansan who resides in MO now. I used to fish in your neighborhood (Tuttle Creek Reservoir) at the time the dam was first closed as a break from classes there at KSU.
