If you buy or trade for a Mini 30, my brand-new Promag 10-rounder magazine works perfectly after six max. and several partial loads. This next info is for those unfamiliar with the 30:
Checking "Perfectunion" will help, except with some people who are also looking for them.
There are so many problems with aftermarket mags for the 30 and 14 that for one or more reasons, many former Ruger customers waited years in total disgust for Ruger to sell high-cap. mags to non LEOs for the 14 and 30 and instead went to ARs, Saigas, AKS or Saigas. This is no joke.
But after the election, they recently opened up some sales of 20-rounders for the 14.
'Perfectunion' has a forum for magazines, mostly aftermarket. It is quite a serious issue for so many aftermarket types, but some have been succesfully adjusted.
Therefore, you still might have some luck locating a good 30, but probably blued (versus ss) or in typical polymer. In case you have not read about them, Russian ammo (harder primers) might cause a ftf now and then, but with a clean chamber, lacquer and carbon residue should be no problem. A gun store here has had a few brand-new 30s or 6.8s etc recently.
You might also check with my favorite store, Brighton Arms, TN: (901) 476-3030 to check their really good used (civilian and military) rifle selection or possibilities of ordering, in case retail prices are acceptable.
