Thats old news.. multiple firms collect every piece of financial data for every person in the US ....supposedly for "the good" ... to help us ... However, big brother pays these companies for any info they want on any person.

Financial data includes all your banking statements, credit card purchases, mortgage payments, and savings records....

Without a court order that is illegal!

Oh wait, that is the beloved Patriot act!

Why is our (the people's government) so interested in what we are doing? I think they have enough on their plate to worry about their citizens.

That 600 page document was approved by Congress a week after 911. There is no way that document was written in a week. There is no way congress had time to read it prior to them passing it. Who wrote it, why was it written prior to a disaster, and why was it sent to vote a week after 911?

Two things... first, the patriot act has a sunshine date and will expire. They have to keep renewing it to keep it. If enough people rant, it will go away eventually.

Second, those type of information gathering systems have been in use for years. Government run of course, not private companies. The biggest one was during the clinton administration. It gathered so much information that, with EVERY NSA analyst working the information, they could still only go over less than half of a percent of information gathered. The computer systems pared the info down to what it considered critical parts and then sent it to the analysts.

Do you actually think ANY senator or congressman actually reads any of the bills they vote on? Thats why they never talk real specifics about any bill. They don't read them. When pressured, usually by conservative media people, they will actually ADMIT they don't read them. Sad, but true.

Its all about, "I will vote for yours if you vote for mine... and make sure there's enough pork built in to make everyone happy."

And the next time Congress puts some CEO on the hotseat so they can demonize actual working people, maybe congress should be told that they will take a pay cut until THEY become productive. How about Congress won't be paid unless they balance the budget? How about Congress take a pay cut? They just approved another increase for themselves, while they do nothing and suck the life out of our country. Perhaps THEY should be the ones in the hotseat. When will the American people wake up and make THAT happen, instead of whining about universal healthcare and the latest socialist agenda? Half of them should be hanged.

Ahh yes....pork barrel legislation and reciprocity make the world go around! Actually there are provisions in the Constitution that recognizes the dominance of the federal government and allows for the expansion of their power:
The Supremacy clause, the Necessary and proper clause, the Commerce clause, and the General welfare clause.
Most anything the government chooses to do, can be justified by one of these provisions.

They want info on everybody so they can pull it out when they need it to squash dissent or discourage whistle blowers. Info on everybody is like money in the bank for these criminals. Criminals always case the place before a big heist.

"Could it really be true?

Many people, when faced with these facts about domestic surveillance and the dangers of a police state society, simply cannot believe any of it is true. They naively think their government would never violate their rights. The U.S. government is here to protect the People, right?

It's an incredibly naive belief."

If you believe half of what you read and half of what you hear, you just might come to know, a little bit about nothing.

"Hi. I am here from the goverment to help you"
Don't beleive it.
When you hear that you KNOW SHTF is about to happen in your corner of the world

A big thing to remember it that the "government' DON'T MAKE DICISIONS, There is alway someone, a person that makes or approves the dicision.

Then they hide behind the cloak of "GOVERNMENT"

I have worked in "government enforcement" for over 30 years and I have seen many enforcement (of all kinds, inspectors, LEO's, regulators, ETC) people use the "government" to enforce their own thinking.

I routinely used to put them on the spot requiring them to show me in black & white the statute or code they were using or wanted me to enforce.

You would be surprised in the difference between how the Statute or Code was written and how "they" wanted to enforce it.

I would frustrate my ex boss ( a retired FBI agent) when I would confront him with the statute and he would finally state do it " Becuase I said so"

I ALWAYS requested that he put it writing. It saved my A$$ several times. He tried to fire me for 7 years. he never succeed and I retired in 2006.

FWIW I had been on the "JOB" for over 20 years when he came to our agency.

I did however have every written decision he or his bosses made in a secured area., and he knew it.

BTW retirement is everything is is cracked up to be.

PS ALL is not doom, as there are a lot of very good people in government doing the best job they can and truly want to help people.
