The weather will play a part if warm, they may run way ahead of you. If cold thay might sit tight. In that situation move slow and stand and wait. If they get nervous enough they will bolt. If it's too warm, above 20 or 30 deg, it's tough.
go around the farm and look for barrows and hot spots where the rabbits normally hang out what gun have u got and may i suggest a 22 magnum just scout around and in time u will get them

I got a 12 ga. benelli nova. using 6 shot with full or modified choke. or .22 LR Ruger semi-auto with a 4x scope. and shooting in a hole kinda sound dangerous.

I always just walk through some brush piles and thickets, shoot as they run in front of me. I try to stay out of the brush in my back yard, they become bold when they know I don't pass by. They catch themselves in the worst possible place ever......... within firing range.

what jerry said if you walk to fast they will just let you go on by and you would never know they were there if you take it slow and stop here and there they will get nervous and run just be ready if it is cold and they hold tight you will probably have some close shootin I woulde open your choke to IC
its not that unsafe u just gota watch for rocks and all that stuff my friend had a 12g and was huntn bunnie wapits and he saw one go into the barrow pointed the gun in the hole and boom massicard it or if you cant get them wait like one of those elite marksman and pick them of one by one just find barrows and find a vantage point and wait sooner or later they will have to come out and play with the bullet and dont worrie mate im a farm boy is well who likes guns just use instinct paitance and time keep cool and expect the unexpected
I haven't rabbit hunted much in years, but walkin' back and forth through brush was always our successful method. Too bad they dont have nite season for them here, I must see tons of the little buggers around my property at nite, fun to chase on 4 wheeler and good enticement for coyotes! And that is a good tip by swedish mauser not to walk directly on it, you can usually get yourself a better position by getting on it the inderect way.

Dogs (Beagles) are the way to go. If you like to hunt rabbits, get a pup and train it. You won't regret it. That said, you can be pretty successful stomping brush, thickets, and so forth slowly. You have to stay alert all the time and ready to shoot. Confidence is crucial and know your terraine where you hunt. Rabbits are creatures of habit and once you know an area, the same places tend to yield the bunnies year after year. You can also build brush piles and so forth to help things along. Some days they will sit real tight and you almost have to step on them to flush them and other days they jump out well ahead of you. Weather conditions affect them a lot.
i found the best rabbit hunting is in town there every where and there fat and clean. now you got to figure out how to get them were i live its only 350 people so every one know one another and no one cares i use a 22 short just incase.
