Ordered some new books...

Well, I had $50 in gift cards to Borders, had them for a while so decided to use them. I have tons of books, and can't help but add to the collection. I read most of them, but always seem to buy one that seems more interesting and pushing others back. Today I ordered four more

Got a little pocket survival guide, should be interesting, probably keep it in my little survival pack just in case.

The Catcher in the Rye! I've read this book so many times it is almost sick, but ordered a new copy and plan on reading it again. I love this book, as every boy and man should.

Boot. It outlines Marine Corps Boot Camp, should be a fun read and insightful.

This is the one I'm most excited about, The Dangerous Book for Boys! I picked it up a few months back but didn't have the dough to walk out with it then, so I finally ordered it. It covers all kinds of fun things, knots, fishing, hunting, trapping, tree houses, boats, just stuff boys should do. I can't wait till it warms up in the Spring and I can go try the stuff out.

Heck, we never needed a book, to tell us how to get in trouble! LOL! It just came natural, back in the old days. And no,I'm not going to relate the stuff that got me in deep crapola!

I,I mean Santa, just got my little guys (4 & 1 1/2) this book. My mom thought it was a little old for them but I thought you can never break'em in too early.

Well, KGunner, if the little survival manual is Pelton's The Official Pocket Survival Manual, you have a good one there. I carry that one myself.

And if this is Boot by Daniel Da Cruz, it will be somewhat dated since he wrote it 20 years ago; but it is still a decent read. However, it does not fully reflect USMC boot camp training as performed these days. No mention of The Grinder, for example, and from what I have heard the Corps is much more prone to discharge medically rather than drop back an injured recruit if the injury is really serious, especially leg injuries.
