Ottawa needs to build a dang range of there own and not have it as a private club. Plenty of places to put one also and I am sure people wouldn't make to much of a fuss about one being around. I should just build my own range out there and have it as public access.

tell me about it.
when my sister lived out in the country, we had a place to shoot pretty much any time.
we can still go out there and shoot some, but i just don't feel right about it now that she doesn't live there.
maybe i'll get rich and buy a piece of land i could hunt

Id drop some monies on a close range in the southern johnson county/kansas city area.
Only place ive found close to me is the old 7/10 gun club which im told is now the Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa, private club, mostley for skeet shooting it seems.

Well once I hit the powerball you are more than welcome to come to Ottawa and shoot as much as you want.

Personaly the boat seems more profitable than the lottery, but i much appriciate (sp) the gesture 99z. I do either seldom so my chances rely on you it sees ...... (crosses fingers). I am contemplateing the $150 annual fee at Powdre Creek if they have at least a 100 yd range for long rifle.

Actually I joke around about the powerball, but I am getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan so I will have a nice chunk of money to invest. I am really thinking about looking into building a shooting range around the Johnson/Franklin county area. It is something that is needed and would be put to good use. Not to mention help involve more youth into shooting sports and help secure our 2nd amendment rights.

I'd talked to powder creek last year about range fees and such.
i was informed that they were a shotgun only club now.

The Kaw Valley Gun Club is indoor 25 yard range. Pistols up to 44 mag. Rifles in handgun cal are ok. Can shoot .223 with there ammo (frangable). Nice set up for pistols are 22 rifles.

You can shoot frangable at Kaw Valley. Why anyone would want to shoot at a range though beats me... its soo boring... I think .223 is the largest you can shoot there also. Kaw is ok, was dark when I was in there last, could barely see anything at all. Its a place to shoot if you need it though.

I guess I'm lucky. I can shoot on my ex's farm any time. Out there you can shoot up to 300 yds.

I live in leavenworth, the nearest public range i know of is in parkville MO. Its called Parma Woods. You can shoot rifles, or pistols up there the rifle part goes up to 100 yards and it costs $3.00 an hour. Its just a 20 min drive for me but ottawa seems kinda far =/
