Does your pistol rattle a lot?

I bought a C9 from someone I knew a little bit. He said he took it apart to clean it. If I shake it forward and backwards it sounds like something is loose inside it. Does anyone with a C9 have the same loose sound? Thanks

I have the jcp-40 and I can actually get two rattles out of mine, both are normal. One is that if the striker is not locked back ready to fire it will rattle. The second is a small bar in the grip that acts as a trigger weight, that one doesn't go away.

wolfman: they just need to be broken in (300-400 rounds) after that they work quite nicely.

On the C9 it has a pendelum on the inside of the grip that is a safety so if you drop the gun it wont fire.(So the intructions say)

It rattles both ways but it shoots good and doesn't jam at all.

The rattle you hear is the drop safety. It is normal on all HP pistols.

I just bought a .40 hi point.

It has a rattle. The manual mentioned a safety feature that prevents drop fires.

DON'T Trust the drop safety, I have a c9 I bought abought 5 months ago. three weeks ago I droped it geting in to my outfit, it was cocked I'm sure of that, luckily no round in the chamber, when I picked it up the firing pin had released. Could have been a real bad day
