I bought a C9 from someone I knew a little bit. He said he took it apart to clean it. If I shake it forward and backwards it sounds like something is loose inside it. Does anyone with a C9 have the same loose sound? Thanks

Yes, Mine does the same thing...Not sure but somewhere, I read it was some kind of safety feature, So if you drop the gun keeps from fireing? but don't hold me to this..
i dont have a c9 or a newer model, i got mine from a friend 9 years afo for $70 and when i bought it he said he didnt shoot it in 4 years. he also said he shot it alot for a few years, so my gun is well over 13+ years old. has anybody seen the same style mine is?
my wife had one it rattled right out the box it also jammed about every third or fourth shot. not my idea of a good home protection weapon so i bought her a winchester 12 gauge pump but getting back at hand they are good pistols
I have the jcp-40 and I can actually get two rattles out of mine, both are normal. One is that if the striker is not locked back ready to fire it will rattle. The second is a small bar in the grip that acts as a trigger weight, that one doesn't go away.
wolfman: they just need to be broken in (300-400 rounds) after that they work quite nicely.

The rattle you hear is the drop safety. It is normal on all HP pistols.

ohh, yes mine does rattel alittle,
here it is:
M44Mosin, I have one that is identical to that, it says "Stallard Arms" on it and is a JS-9.
DON'T Trust the drop safety, I have a c9 I bought abought 5 months ago. three weeks ago I droped it geting in to my outfit, it was cocked I'm sure of that, luckily no round in the chamber, when I picked it up the firing pin had released. Could have been a real bad day
