Gun sales still up on eve of Obama administration

Gun sales continue to increase sharply in the aftermath of Barack Obama's presidential election, a trend gun rights lobbies attribute to concerns over a potential new gun ban.

That is the biggest reason I purchased one.

I have wanted one for a long time but couldn't bring
myself to part with the money. The potential of a gun
ban or the potential of jacking the tax on ammo sky high.
I'M ALL IN Now a current Handgun Owner.
Thanks BHO. (Barack Hussein Obama)

I'm a little worried about what Obama MIGHT do. But I swear these gun shops are using it in their favor and they are using fear as much as possible to keep sales strong! Norinco SKS are all of a sudden $600 instead of $200.. And Obama aint dun shit yet! If this trend keeps up we'll ALL be forced to only buy hi points in a couple of years..

Just today I learned from an employee at Sportsman's Warehouse - they are selling 35 to 40 guns a DAY. Fast as they can truck them in - they are being bought.....

On the brighter side - the ammo components are being stocked up more - I can find what I need now! Enough bullets, powder and primers to keep me satisfied.

I just hope any newbie gun owners get some good training, even if from a good friend at the range. We don't need any statistics to bolster the Brady Bunch's bogus agenda.

I saw someone on another gun board say "Mr. Obama been Barry, Barry good for gun sales..."

I find it so ironic that a gun-grabbing idiot like him has become the greatest gun salesman in the history of the world.

I hope so too Big Dog! A lot of people who weren't raised around guns are running out and buying some pretty heavy artillery... I hope they all have someone to mentor them.. Nothing beats a concerned Father when it comes to firearms safety lessons, but anyone is better than no one, so please everyone that shoots at public ranges, don't be shy to step in and help someone out if they look confused.. I always do, mostly so I get a good idea of how close I need to keep an eye on them while they're shooting so as not to get shot!!

Everyone is saying that Obama is going to take our guns, enact bans and so on. My question is, how long do you think it will take before he gets to it? He has inherited so many problems that I can't see guns being at the top of his list. Of course I could be wrong. How do others feel about this?

BTW. I too am angry at the gun shops for hiking the prices on an assumsion. It’s kind of like when gas goes up because there is a hurricane 2000 miles away from the gulf of mexico.

AIM has shut down their Counter Sales until further notice because of the high demand of internet sales.

I keep telling you: Yes, Obama has a pile of pressing business on his plate once he takes office. He's going to (I hope) tell Congress to forget about trying to pass a gun ban and look at the big picture, and work to keep the country from reenacting the Great Depression.

There is no guarantee that Congress will listen to him. There are a pile of anti-gunners there, and they are acting cockier than they have for eight years because they know Obama's anti-gun record in Illinois and in the less than 150 days he actually put in an appearance in the Senate. Plus which, having tried and failed to pass HR 1022 in the last Congress, McCarthy and her fellow anti-gun, anti-civil rights nanny-staters will try again - and may take advatage of these desperate times to attach it as a rider to some bill that Obama WANTS passed, the way Lautenberg got his domestic violence misdemeanor disqualification from gun ownership bill passed into law, by attaching it to a budget bill.

So watch out for dirty, underhanded trickery. It's what politicians are best at.
