Hi-Point 995 with BSA Red Dot $258.00

There is a 995 carbine with a BSA Red Dot scope for $258.00 at a local gun shop. Wanted to get some feedback on the price, quality, reliability, etc. of Hi-Point Arms from some current owners.

Thanks

What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight - it's the size of the fight in the dog.

I paid 189 new for my 995 last April, and $30 for a BSA Red Dot.

I don't know current market values, or market values in your area, but I have heard they are becoming harder and harder to find so maybe that price is justifiable?

Though, if you can't find any other ones locally, and you don't really have any other options (which is true, there aren't many options for PCCs, especially on a budget), and you feel you will be happy with the purchase even if you spend a little more than bottom dollar, then I say go for it.

Gambler, you won't be gambling at $258. Get it while you can. I've only shot my 995 about 30 times, but it has worked flawlessly, and shoots tight groups where the sights are looking.-SOG

That price is a little steep for me but who knows, it could be cheap where your at, and under $300. As stated above: Get it while you can.

I got that same rig back in November for $238 incl. tax from my friendly LGS. That store is less than 100 miles from where the gun was manufactured and just a few miles up the street from the HP distributor, so that might be a consideration?

Okay I saw one used 995 carbine for $185 and one new one for $236 no scopes. We found one used JHP 45 ACP pistol for $110 it is now in the family!

Thanks for the feedback

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I am going to get it. Besides, the Gun Shop has a 90 day layaway plan. Has anyone seen the new digital camo stock you can get for 995?

Here is a link:

Bought my 9mm Carbine Today

I put a Hi Point 9mm carbine on layaway at my local gun shop today. It has a BSA Red Scope but I am going to dress it up with one of these digital camo stocks from www.combathunting.com.

I am also going to install a muzzle brake and sling. It will be my WMAC 'Working Man's Assault Carbine'. The piggy bank is not full at this time to get an AK or AR.

I like the fact it shoots 9mm.
The ammo is still reasonably priced, for now...

I did my patriotic duty on inaugural day.
