Holy Crap on the prices these guns brought. Heard from a friend that went that one of the Winchester shotguns went for $1500. Not sure if it's because people that can't get approved to buy a new gun are buying these at whatever price they can get them at or if everyone thinks they won't be able to get them anymore.

i've been to a few auctions around here, and for the most part you gotta wonder where people get these prices.
I'd prefer to go pawn shop hopping myself

I wonder that myself. There is another auction next Sunday, I think the 25th, at Olde Mill Auction in Topeka. Have bought a couple 22 rifles for $100 each from there before. Pretty good guns too. Some of them went crazy, and I think that the people bidding didn't do their research beforehand. It was pretty insane. Pawn shops are interesting, but usually they are pretty overpriced too. Just get lucky sometimes at auctions. They have a list on their website.

The shotgun you are refering to was a model 42 i think in 410 very nice gun . It was pre 64 gun I know . That gun had a lot of collector peices a 9mm luger with 3 extra mags $2000 . Those kind of guns. Yes some things were very high I thought . But it was a good auction though . Had a never issued never fired mosin $350.

Auctions cost more than it should.
So I too go to pawn shops or just go to a regular retail store.

Ive noticed in the past couple years the guns at auction have been bringing hefty prices on the block,we went to a gun auction today in Savannah Mo. and the same thing as they had an IH M1 Garand that brought over 1500 bucks and an HK 93 that brought 3000 bucks seems as if this thing is going on all over...................
