I have an A5 in 30-06 . Bought it used a show. It came with a McMillan stock that looks like French walnut untill you pick it up and feel the texture. I put a Leupold VX-II 3x9 and killed a nice feral hog with it.
I haven't done any experimentation with loads or reloading since my job keeps me from hunting now, but maybe that will change.

The only SAKO I have is a 1942 M39. My dad had a Finnbear in .30-06 in the 80s but he got sideswiped by a guy with no insurance, and a fine Finnish rifle will cover the repairs to a '71 Chevelle.

Finally got mine setup.
Tikka T3 lite in .308Win. Falcon 4.5-18x56mm scope, Harris swivel bipod, Burris x-treme tactical rings, and an EGW 1-Piece Picatinny base.
Now I just have to make some reloads and off to the range with it!

Until you shoot a Tikka and rack the action you haven't seen the best. Like hot knife in butter! The 300WM Deluxe and .30-06 Deluxe are both sitting new in boxes. I bought them few years back when RSR Group ran a special on them. If you like a beautiful, gloss, wood finish stock you will love these. If interested in the 300 or 06 let me know. The others are my babies, especially the 22-250. It has a Schmidt & Bender #4 reticle on it, and it shoots better then I can shoot it. The Continental is no longer produced, so I will be hanging on to that one for a long, long time. The 25-06 and 243 are my deer rifles. My next rifle I buy will be a T3 lite in 223 for my son to shoot. I use to be a die hard Browning fan, and still own a couple, but no comparison to Tikka.

|  Barrel recall on the tikkas
I've heard about the Tikkas having a barrel recall. But, I thought it was only on the Tikka T3 Stainless Synthetic lite, (at least thats what I heard) I'm a proud owner of a Tikka m695 in .30/06 and I've also heard that all Tikkas have a mostly synthetic mag (ditto the follower spring) however mine has an all steel or at least the housing is. (haven't paid clos attention to the follower) should I have any worries about this rifle?  I'm sure i don't because mine is a 695 before the T3 came along, but just curios on anyone's take, and experienes  | |

Hi everyone, just got my first tikka t3 lite and i love it, im very glad i went with the 6.5x55 and i cant say a bad word about it. if any body has some stories about there tikka 6.5x55 i would love to hear them.

I love the avatar. For those that don't know, White Death's avatar is of Simo Hayha a National hero in Finland. He became famous for his efforts during the "Winter War" with over 500 recorded kills. The Russians erred in judging the fighting ability of the Finns and were unable to invade Finland in 1939 - 40 due to the strong fighting spirit and skill of the Finns. His kills were accomplished in sub zero temperature in less than 100 days. He used a Mosin-Nagant rifle with "open" sights. He stood 5'3" tall.
He remains a national hero to this day.

The 7/08 is more than enough cartridge for reindeer...
I'd suggest the projectile you are using may be too hard to open up at the velocity they are doing when they hit..
Try some different bullets and the problem should go away...
