Here's my one and only Sako AV .416 Remington Magnum that I acquired back in the '90's. A fair selection of bullets available for this caliber from 300gr to 400gr. I handload for it because the factory load offerings are cost prohibitive (~$80 per box!).
I've used the Speer 350gr Mag-Tip at 2500fps with excellent results on big critters, and for better range I prefer the 300gr X bullet at 2900fps. It shoots relatively flat out to 400yds and kills with authority. Accuracy is very good at around 1 MOA, typical Sako.
I've had various scopes on it, and it now has a Nikon Omega 3x9 muzzleloader scope that offers 6" of constant eye relief even set at 9x, and a range finding reticle for long range work.
Slam - Sweet. Is that a 3x9 on top? I'd also add that I think you have enought gun for anything your ever going to hunt. Ha. It's a Sako!
Tom
It's a Nikon Omega 3x9 scope. It's a reliable and well made fine quality rifle as all Sako rifles are. It's been used to take deer, elk, moose and bighorn sheep from close up to extreme ranges. I do my part and it does its.
I had a sako carbine in 338, a sako M995 in 300Wby, and a Sako Hunter in 6.5x55 Swede. I still have a Sako 308 and a 7mm Mag. Wish I had that 65.x55 Swede back !!

Hi! The Finns sure know how to make rifles. I have a Sako 75, stainless, laminated ( a real beauty) mounted with a Schmidt & Bender scope. The only drawback is that itīs in 7mm'08 which is a real tackdriver but lacks punch for hunting. Once in Greenland, I had to chase a reindeer stag for almost a mile after a heart shot ( the bullet passed through the solid heart muscle in the middle, one in a million chance ) before having to shoot it behind the ear (250 metrs up steep hill) to put it down and therefore destroying any thought of a nice trophy. It sends the bullet where you want it to hit.
Sako AV in 270 with a 3.5x10x56 Leupold VX-L.Easily does 1/2 moa.Had it for about 20 years. This gun gets used often so it does have nicks and scratches.
