Events after a major SHTF disaster

I know we have talked about this a little bit, but what do you think the time line of events would be within the first 60 days after a very large disaster like total economic collapse or an EMP strike ? I know super markets would be cleaned out in 3 days usually, but how long before all the unpreppared would get really desperate for food ?

Until they and their neighbors are out of the food in their house, and the aid stations are swamped, and they realize their isnt "more at the store."

If it's that bad, how many grocery store employees are going to show up for work? If something isn't unlocked, it would be a break in situation, and there may still be many things you can't get to because of locks, i.e. gas pumps, etc.

It depends on if we have electric power and if it's in the summer or winter. If its like the weather here today (5 degrees) it will get ugly very fast. We had a wind storm here in September and we had thousands of homes without power from 3 to 7 days. I have never seen a storm like it in my 50 years. We had long lines at the few gas stations that were open. It was hard to find ice. We were lucky because we atleast had a gas stove so we could still heat up our food. If we ever have a few Power Plants taken out due to Terrorists or a Natural Disaster it will devastate thousands very quickly.

I would think it would be a couple of weeks after store deliveries stop before it would get too crazy. Most would assume that The gov will rescue them so they will sit back...and most likely starve! As this happens people will become desperate to provide for their families.. Even good people can resort to bad actions in a situation like that.. I would not want to be around or in any cities w/ large populations and few natural food sources.. It will progressively get worse as the days go by.. Best to have a plan and know when it should be exercised.. For example: if Wally world is unexpectedly closed for x consecutive days, then I will..............

Food storage should allways be a priority no matter what the situation in life is, be prepared for the worst if possible. Then pray and hope if your religious, and if your not, well just hope I guess.

with in a few weeks grocery stores will close or be taken over by govt. forces...
with in a month any city with a population of 100,000+ will be in total caos...
within three month, those still around will have banded together to try to make a life with what ever they could find....
